I’m almost not sick. Yay. Kinda
I just got a new job today via iBrain. They want me to re-design Mie University’s Center for International Students website. I don’t know what’s there now (it times out), but I get free reign as long as it looks ok in ‘version 4’ browsers and above. Interestingly there is no requirement for consistiency with the Japanese, Chinese or Hangul versions of the same information (?!). Oh well, I get to have fun! (at least more fun than the last ‘no CSS please’ job)
Miwa and I are officially uncouth. We opened a bottle of the old Chateau La Cabanne Pomerol (Appellation Pomerol Controlée) to celebrate my birthday. Bottled in 1973, it’s supposedly a “Grand Vin De Bordeaux”, and was given to Miwa by her sugar-daddy (‘the Director’). After decanting and sampling it, we both decided it’s officially bimyou. Miwa actually preferred the cask of Banrock Station Shiraz Cabernet (!), so I’m drinking it .. as mulled wine (+ fruit juice, cloves and cinnamon bark). The thought was nice, but even Michael Broadbent’s Poket Guide to Wine Vintages agrees that 1973 Bordeaux sucked :) Neuveau Riche, without the money!
