IE 6 Display Error?

I’m trying to trouble-shoot a display error in Windows IE 6. A friend reports that the left navigation <div id="menu"> is overlapping the right content <div id="content">, covering about 3 letters of article titles. I just checked on my neighbour’s computer with IE 6, and the error is only an occasional pixel too much — when resizing the window the content’s left border is sometimes obscured. The only obvious difference is my neighbour uses a Japanese version, and my friend doesn’t. This is very scary, because I thought that Japanese localizations of browsers used the same engine as the English version.
I suspect that IE 6 is caching my old stylesheet, but just to be sure I’ve made the menu background transparent. I hope that helps — if not please leave a comment!
