Hilarious! Spammers complaining via (you guessed it) spam

Like most people, I get enough spam for it to be annoying. Most of it gets caught and consigned to spam folders, but some still slips through (especially from Cyberdifference, damn them) and I also get a few false positives. This effect of making email unreliable is just as bad as the time wasted for me. I’m in the process of installing SpamAssassin and Vipul’s Razor on my webserver (more ‘trying to work out how the hell to…’ ;-) and after that I have a few other things to install (‘bad spider’ traps and MT Comment spam protection).
In the face of this excessive amount of work to protect myself against spammers, I got a hilarious email from crazy horse
, a legitimate email list owner
(ie spammer). The email is a spelling mistake-filled rant against the most excellent SpamCop, an evil company hell bent on destroying not only my business but many other legitimate website owners and email list operators
. The ‘main problems’ listed are
- The CEO has an
attitude problem
- SpamCop and some of it’s users have a
“nazi” like attitude to any sort of email
- This is terrible! -
they send thousands of unsolicited complaints to hosts/isps
. Who would do such a terrible thing? - And most grievous of all,
spamcops [sic] CEO is rumoured to have conections [sic] with Al-Quada [sic]
! Oh, the inhumanity!
Ironically enough, despite his protestations of innocence as a legitimate
emailer and frequent mentions of we always provide working optout links
, there is no opt-out link in this email. He sounds even more of a loser in person too.
The irony of it all seems to be a little too much for our poor spammer to understand.
