Are we buying a new computer or what?

After the price craziness with the Apple PowerMac G5/1.8 model, and it’s replacement with a G5/1.8 dual model, I’m now holding off again for more anticipated price drops in January. I can justify this with my waiting for a new line of (cheaper, G5-complementing) LCD monitors, but all this waiting is getting silly! I hope we can buy the new computer soon :-)

Computer prices going … up?

I want to buy a new Apple G5 computer, but there’s something very strange happening to the prices. In the last two weeks discount company prices have been going up. Now I feel like I can’t buy, because it used to be cheaper. Argh!

Capturing a Window in Mac OS X

I finally worked out how to capture a window as a screen shot; Command Shift - 4 then Space. I’ve also listed all the other Mac OS X screen capture keyboard shortcuts.

Extra Safari Features; HetimaSafariHackEX

I’ve found a great Safari enhancement called HetimaSafariHackEX. It adds a new menu allowing you to quickly change your default charset (great for surfing Japanese pages when your default charset isn’t Shift-JIS). It also adds bookmark title searching, and (very) basic code colouring to View Source. It’s good!

Apple in the Music Selling business, online

I’m impressed that Apple has led the industry in offering easy and legal music downloads. I’m surprised that no one has done it sooner. Given it’s US-only, I can’t try it out, but it certainly looks like it’ll break…
