I've been spending a lot of time at the beach recently. The weather has been very hot and humid, so it's been perfect for snorkeling. Miwa and I went down to the south of Shima-gun today and snorkeled just past Wagu. We saw a lot of fish, including some tiny vibrant blue tropical ones. I also found a strange shell; it looked like a sea urchin shell but was much larger and oblong. There were indentations in it that looked like a starfish. I suspect it might be the shell of a kind of sea slug we saw.
I start teaching at the Senbei factory tomorrow, which should be fun. There was a kick-ass lightning storm last night in the hills around Watari, and we could see the sky light up in the distance from the apartment. Apart from that life is quiet, quiet and hot.
